8-12 oz Almond Milk or coconut milk!

Personal Story: How smoothies helped boost my health & happiness
For years I woke up feeling like a character out of the walking dead, transforming to the energizer bunny, and eventually crashing hard by lunch. My focus was all over place and finding the energy I needed seemed almost impossible. Needing a change and knowing that breakfast is the most important meal of the day (and loving milkshakes), I decided to give smoothies a try. I’ll be honest, I did it mainly because I have a super sweet tooth and putting some fruits in the blender made me feel better about myself.
The first week was the hardest, I still craved my coffee but I did realize I didn’t feel like I was on such a rollercoaster. They soon became my morning routine and to my surprise, my kids (ages 2 & 4 at the time) were asking me to make them for them too! I’ll admit that we don’t drink them everyday like I know we should, but I can say my body overall feels better and my mind at ease knowing I’m making a conscious choice to be a little bit healthier.
Smoothies were the first thing that really opened my eyes to the power of foods and really paying attention to how my body reacts. It was a small step that eventually created a big difference. People are now shocked when they find out I don’t drink ANY caffeine and I’m completely SANE (although, that’s still up for debate)
